KIRAN ACHARYA
Mr. Kiran Acharya is a founder and Chairperson of ANAJ. He has over two decades of experience in the Nepali journalism sector. He started his career as a reporter in the Rolpa district for Nepal Samacharpatra Daily. Currently, he is working as an editor for his co-founded monthly Economic Premium Magazine, TAKSAR. Earlier, he started his journalistic career by writing about the Maoist insurgency and the impact of the Maoist war. He is also a founder member of Rolpa district’s first FM Radio, Radio Rolpa, and Rolpa’s first newspaper, Ropla Aawaj Fortnightly. Mr. Acharya has been an active journalist since 2003 and specialized in his career as an agriculture journalist in 2012 when he joined Nepal’s first economic daily newspaper, Karobar National Economic Daily, as a senior correspondent.
He has a master’s degree in Journalism from Purvanchal University of Nepal and a bachelor’s degree in Law & Sociology from Tribhuvan University. As a Mass Communicator, Agriculture Communication Expert, Mr. Acharya is a campaigner for AGRICULTURE COMMUNICATION FOR PROSPERITY. Along with this, he has been a lecturer of Mass Communication, Media, Journalism & Public Relations since 2010. He has worked as a trainer on different Journalism, Communications & Public Relations training projects. He has dozens of awards and recognition from the Ministry of Agriculture Development, Nepal Agriculture Research Council, National Dairy Development Board, Nepal Tea & Coffee Development Board, and from cooperatives and other Agriculture enterprises.
SURESH KUMAR YADAV
Suresh Kumar Yadav, a founding member of ANAJ, is a sub-editor at the government-owned daily newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’. He has been in the journalism sector for the past 15 years and has been writing on political and agricultural issues for the last 12 years. Yadav has published numerous articles and analytical write-ups on agricultural issues and has been recognized for his contribution in agricultural journalism by the Press Council and the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC). He has also worked as a press advisor for the then Irrigation Minister, Umesh Yadav, and served as the former General Secretary of the Association of Madhesi Journalists.
RAJESH PD VERMA
Rajesh Pd Verma is a renowned name in agriculture journalism in Nepal. He has been active in journalism since 2049 BS. Verma has served in various roles throughout his career, including Executive Editor at Purbadhar Plus Magazine from 2079 Magh and former Business Bureau Chief at Sourya National Daily from 2078 Magh to 2079 Push and Sunaulonepal.com from 2078 Ashoj to Push. Verma has also worked as a former Business Bureau Deputy Chief at Annapurna Post from 2074-2078 Shrawan 20.
He has served as a Sr. Sub Editor at Annapurna Post from 2066-74 and Sub Editor at Annapurna Post from 2065-66. Additionally, he worked as a district reporter at Annapurna Post from 2063-65 and at Jana Dharna Weekly from 2050-051. Verma’s experience also includes working as a district reporter at Radio Today from 2063-2066, Gorkhapatra Daily from 2062-63, RSS from 2061-62, Image Fm/channel from 2060-62, Himalaya Times Daily from 2059-062, Nayasadak Daily from 2057-59, and KhabarPatrika weekly from 2056-58. Furthermore, he has worked as a reporter at Biswabhumi Weekly from 2049-50.
MANOJ SHRESTHA
Manoj Shrestha, a founding member of ANAJ, is the Editor-in-chief of HaloKhabar.com, a news portal solely focused on agricultural issues. He has been in the journalism sector for over a decade and has previously worked as a Business Bureau Sub-Editor at Annapurna Post and a Reporter at The Himalayan Times. Shrestha has also worked as a district reporter in Biratnagar for six years for Annapurna Daily newspaper. Additionally, he has served as a Regional Coordinator and News Chief in News 24 TV, Gorkha FM, Music & Headlines FM Kathmandu, and Birat FM (news chief) respectively since May 2007. He has experience working as an independent reporter for Nepal, Himal Khabarpatrika, Nepali Times, and other national and international magazines in various media houses.
LEKHNATH POKHREL
Lekhnath Pokhrel, a founding member of ANAJ, has over 20 years of journalism experience and is currently the Business Bureau Chief at Himalaya Times, a daily newspaper. Prior to this, he has contributed to the journalism sector through Bishleshan weekly newspaper, Dibya Darshan weekly newspaper, Khulla Bajar business magazine, and Arthik Dainik, a complete business newspaper. Pokhrel has also worked for magazines such as Public News, Yug Astha, Business Journal, Nawanari, and News Agro.com. He has also worked at Mountain Television and Business Plus television.
Arpana Ale Magar
Arpana Ale Magar, a founding member of ANAJ, has five years of journalism experience in the agricultural sector and has been working in media for the past decade. She started her career at Karobar National Daily and has also worked for Republica National Daily for two years. Currently, Magar works at Techpana.com and writes news and articles on tourism, IT issues, and agricultural issues.
Sunita Sitaula
Sunita Sitaula, a founding member of ANAJ, is an agriculture journalist currently working at Setopati.com. She has been in the journalism field for the past five years and writes news, articles, and features on agricultural issues. In addition to agriculture, Sitaula also covers news and articles on industrial and commercial issues. She began her career at Himgatha weekly newspaper.
Sanjina Shrestha
Sanjina Shrestha, a founding member of ANAJ, is a program presenter on NTV. Previously worked as news anchor & agriculture program presenter at ABC television. She has been in the journalism sector for the past 13 years and has written on agricultural, social, and political issues. Sanjina has worked at News24 television and Avenues television and has served as a program presenter at Nepal Television and Kantipur Television. Additionally, she has worked as a reporter at Reader Research PVT. LTD. and for Swasthya and VOW, a monthly magazine.
Nabin Dhungana
Nabin Dhungana, a founding member of ANAJ, is a journalist currently working at Onlinekhabar.com as an sub-editor, one of the most popular online news portals in Nepal. He has been working in the field of journalism for more than a decade and has gained considerable experience in reporting and editing news stories on various topics including Agriculture, economy, and consumer issues. He is known for his insightful and analytical reporting and is highly respected in the Nepalese journalism community.
